The 2-million-square-foot regional shopping mall was envisioned as an environment for community gatherings, social interactions, and cultural activities. Lush gardens, performance spaces, children’s play areas, and art installations increase shopper engagement and stay time, which are critical to retail success. A large terrarium on the central axis of the mall introduces landscaping to the interior shopping environment and fills the concourses with natural light. Art installations provided by a local art school can be found throughout the mall and contribute to the community aspect of the project.
